• Employee Development: Coordinate with Human Resources to recruit, train and develop quality candidates for leadership positions, and oversee the activities of the sewing training center 

• Ensure employee wellbeing and fulfill target for number of running sewing machines by taking steps to reduce grievance, employee turnover and absenteeism 

• Coordinate with planning team to allocate styles to lines so as to minimise changeover time, and provide feedback regarding feasibility of proposed production target and sewing completion, finishing completion and inspection dates o Provide decision and make necessary arrangements regarding line feeding in case planned style cannot be executed for some reason such as unavailable accessories 

• Ensure material availability: Communicate with Planning, Cutting, Printing sections and Accessories store to ensure next three days’ material availability, and also in case of any urgent requirement o Communicate with Dyeing division, and Cutting and Printing sections to arrange fabric and input in case of “short cutting” 

• Ensure that manpower utilization is as per line design, and that extra manpower is not utilized without authorisation 

• Ensure MOET criteria are effectively and sustainably implemented
• Monitoring: Monitor performance and provide guidance regarding root cause analysis and preventive actions (poka yoke) and provide solutions if floor leaders are unable to do so o Monitor daily changeover time & sustainment status, and production performance (Defect %, DHU, Pcs/Hr, Efficiency); and hold floor heads to account for missed targets and provide necessary support such as motivating staff and workers of concerned line(s) o Monitor and control non-productive time (NPT) and overtime (OT), style closing status and inspection results for further improvement o Meet cut-to-ship ratio target: monitor reject, missing/lost & stock lot delivery quantity 

• Communicate with merchandising regarding shipment schedule • Worker handling: Handle disciplinary matters elevated by Floor heads, such as habitually late or absent workers and workers refusing to comply with factory regulations 

• General management: Determine and/or arrange other resources required to facilitate production, such as furniture and fittings, electric infrastructure etc. 

• Provide Recommendation/Approval o Overtime/Extra Overtime/Night Duty o Manpower utilisation (in particular line) over and above IE layout sheet o Additional sewing/finishing accessories requisition o Additional cut panel requisition 

• Any other responsibility as assigned by management Supervisory Duties This position involves the direct supervision of PM/DPM/APMs, and the indirect supervision of all staff and workers in the Garments Processing Section Competency Requirements 1. Literacy: the position holder must be able to fluently read and write in Bangla and English, must be competent at arithmetic, and must be computer literate with low-to-intermediate MS Office skills 2. Outstanding leadership & communication, worker handling and negotiation skills 3. Technical knowledge: fabric and machine types; types, causes and remedies of quality problems, basic IE and Lean Management tools (7 wastes, 5S, JIT & JIDOKA, SMED) 4. Personal attributes: Must be organized, calm under pressure, a team player with integrity, and apply Lean Management philosophy in personal life 5. Proven ability to plan, analyse and solve problems 6. Proven track record of applying lean management philosophy at the workplace
